Editing
“The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter." - Mark Twain
My skillset as an editor comes from a variety of experiences.
My former career as an English teacher means that I have an extensive knowledge of grammar, syntax, and the other details that are important to copyediting work.
My love of reading means that my well-read nature translates well into developmental editing. Looking at the big picture of the story you are trying to tell is just as important as examining the more intricate details of the writing.
Because I hold three degrees, including a doctorate, I am trained in the art and science of academic editing. Structure is of the utmost importance in academic work, so it is important to work with someone who understands and has experience with that type of writing.
If you have a piece of writing that you need some assistance with, please contact me so that we can figure out if my skillset matches your needs!
